Modern Times Group FORK Media Asset Management

Modern Times Group AB (MTG) based in Sweden and operating on six continents, with TV channels, subscription platforms, online services, content production and radio stations has chosen FORK Media Asset Management (MAM) by PrimeStream for content management system.

MTG started the process of searching and evaluating Media Asset Management systems at the beginning of 2015. The process started from Copenhagen, headquarters of one of its subsidiaries, TV3 Sports, which was already using the FORK system for ingest, playout, integration with Avid Media Composer, SGL/Quantum for archive and Snell/Morpheus for flow automation.

One of the main requirements was the cooperation of the central playout in Sweden (Stockholm) with the FORK production servers in Denmark (Copenhagen). From the outset the goal was interoperability between the two business points regardless of the final choice of content management (MAM) system/manufacturer.

Modern Times Group chooses FORK Media Asset Management

After months of analysis of needs and functionality, the FORK Media Asset Management system was selected in October 2015.

The system includes: 28 ingest channels, integration with 30 users Adobe Premiere, Live Assist system for studio/control room playout, Diskarchive for long-term archiving and fast retrieval, integration with Pebble Beach flow automation system and Harris traffic system. The import of sports metadata will be done either through FORK Logger or through intergration with a specialized metadata import service.

Installation began at the end of November 2015 and the start of operation is scheduled for February 2016.$R3034JS

MTG chose the FORK solution because of the way it manages the metadata of the content files, the flexibility and adaptability of FORK in communicating with third-party systems, but also the general architecture of the system that dynamically connects ingest, playout and video processing functions in one single environment with existing systems.

Comart is the exclusive representative of PrimeStream in Greece and Cyprus with active installations of the system and a demonstration installation.
