Comart undertook the needs analysis, technical design and installation of a complete system of four (4) Apple Mac Pro workstations, one (1) Windows workstation, two (2) servers (XServe), 18TB storage system, one (1) SD HD 16X16 Signal Router, peripherals, racks and Final Cut Studio applications. During the installation, Comart technicians carried out the necessary configuration according to the customer's needs and integration with existing systems.
After the installation was completed, 10 employees were trained in the operation and maintenance of the offered equipment by certified "Apple Trainers" of Comart SA and technical support was provided seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day (24/7).
System Architecture and Operation
The two Apple XSERVE Meta Data Controller (MDC) servers are responsible for managing the disk array. Here, individual user rights (clients) are defined, such as:
The two MDC servers A and B operate in parallel so that if one of them goes out of service, the second one takes over. All clients and MDC servers are connected via fiber optics to two fiber optic servers (Fiber Switch) with two separate fibers from each optical card, so that if one of the two fiber switches goes out of service, the client operation is not interrupted. All clients and MDC servers are connected via dual Ethernet connectivity to two available networks (IP Range) with UTP cable, one is private and the other is public, using the built-in and one additional network card. Each of the two networks ends in two network servers (Ethernet Switch) which operate in parallel. The Private network operates exclusively for the formation of the storage system (SAN) to secure the data information (MetaData). The Public network covers all other networking needs of the system.
The system is fully operational and has been smoothly integrated into the existing facility and production process.
