Blackmagic Design has announced the availability of the new URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2. The second generation of the URSA Mini Pro camcorder features a completely redesigned electronics and a new Super 35mm 4.6K image sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range that combine to support high frame rates up to 300 frames per second. In addition, the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 supports Blackmagic RAW and features a new USB-C expansion port for direct recording to external drives.
The new URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 is a significant upgrade over the original model, now featuring all-new electronics for higher-speed processing. This makes the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 ideal for capturing action footage, documentaries, nature photography, sports and more.
Blackmagic RAW
Additionally, URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 can capture Blackmagic RAW images in both cinematic and extended video modes, making it ideal for use in feature films, television shows, commercials and indie films as well as newscasts and live multi-camera productions.

Blackmagic RAW is a smarter encoding format that gives creative professionals, editors, cameramen, producers, filmmakers and more stunning images and incredible performance.
Color Technology Design Generation 4 Color Science
URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 also uses Blackmagic Design Generation 4 Color Science for superior imaging that results in extremely accurate skin tones and beautiful, vibrant colors. Blackmagic RAW images are encoded using a custom 12-bit non-linear space designed to provide the maximum amount of color and dynamic range possible. These formats can be recorded to CFast or SD cards, as well as directly to flash drives using the new USB-C expansion port.
The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 is designed to be extremely durable, fully featured, and light enough to take anywhere. There's a high-resolution, backlit external display for viewing critical shooting information, a touchscreen for reviewing shots without the need for an additional monitor, professional connections like 12G-SDI, XLR audio, built-in high-quality stereo microphones, and more.
Unique Features
URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 features IR-compensated Neutral Density (ND) filters to quickly reduce the amount of light entering the camera. The 2, 4 and 6 stop filters are specifically designed to match the camera’s colorimetry and provide additional width, even in harsh lighting conditions. This means users can use different combinations of aperture and shutter angle to achieve shallow depth of field or specific levels of motion blur in a wider range of situations. The IR-compensated filters evenly compensate for both far-red and infrared wavelengths to eliminate IR contamination.
