Modern Times Group FORK Media Asset Management
Modern Times Group AB (MTG), headquartered in Sweden and operating on six continents, with television channels, subscription platforms, online services, content production and radio stations, has chosen the FORK Media Asset Management (MAM) of PrimeStream for content management system.
MTG began the process of searching and evaluating Media Asset Management systems in early 2015. The process began in Copenhagen, the headquarters of one of its subsidiaries, TV3 Sports, which was already using the FORK system for ingest, playout, integration with Avid Media Composer, SGL/Quantum for archive and Snell/Morpheus for flow automation.
One of the key requirements was the cooperation of the central playout in Sweden (Stockholm) with the FORK production servers in Denmark (Copenhagen). From the beginning, the aim was to ensure functionality between the two points of activity regardless of the final choice of content management system/manufacturer (MAM).
After months of needs and functionality analysis, the FORK Media Asset Management system was selected in October 2015.
Modern Times Group chooses FORK Media Asset Management
After months of needs and functionality analysis, the FORK Media Asset Management system was selected in October 2015.
The system includes: 28 ingest channels, integration with 30 users Adobe Premiere, Live Assist system for studio/control room playout, Disk archive for long-term archiving and fast retrieval, integration with Pebble Beach's streaming automation system and Harris' traffic system. The import of sports metadata will be done either through the FORK Logger or through integration with a specialized metadata import service.
Installation began at the end of November 2015 and the start of operations is scheduled for February 2016.
MTG chose the FORK solution because of the way it manages its metadata of the content files, the flexibility and adaptability of FORK in communicating with third-party systems, but also the general architecture of the system that dynamically connects ingest, playout and video editing functions in one single environment with existing systems.
Comart is the exclusive representative of PrimeStream in Greece and Cyprus with active installations of the system and a demonstration installation.
