BlackMagic Micro Cinema & URSA Mini 4.6K EF
Blackmagic Design announced that PEUGEOT’s new commercial campaign “MOTION & EMOTION” used BlackMagic Micro Cinema and URSA Mini 4.6K EF cameras, while the spot was edited with DaVinci Resolve Studio.
The spot was created by Japanese Production Company Assemblage KK. Its founder and head of production for PEUGEOT's new campaign, Alexandre Bartholo, stated:
“In this commercial we used almost entirely POV (Point Of View) shots to give the audience as much of the real experience of a test drive as possible. For this reason we needed a small camera. We placed the Micro Cinema Camera on the actor’s helmet so that we could control its position because we wanted the shots to be as close to human eye level as possible. Its small size allowed us to have better and more precise positioning and handling, resulting in completely realistic POV shots.”
“The footage was shot in RAW 3:1, as well as a ProRes recording via an external drive for backup. The Blackmagic cameras are able to output Log images even from SDI and HDMI, which gives me the security I need in case something happens to my unedited footage.”
The commercial also includes night shots. Alexandre was completely satisfied with the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera's ability to shoot in low light conditions.
“We used the BlackMagic URSA Mini 4.6K for the non-POV shots, where full-car footage was needed, while DaVinci Resolve Studio was the ideal tool for the Post Production process.”
