Blackmagic Design today announced the Blackmagic Design Duplicator 1.0.2 Update, which dramatically increases H.265 performance on the latest playback devices. Since the launch of Blackmagic Duplicator 4K in April, new H.265 playback devices have been introduced and users have provided feedback on H.265 playback performance. This feedback has been used to improve the codec in Blackmagic Duplicator 4K, and the software update provides these improvements free of charge to all Blackmagic Duplicator 4K users.
Blackmagic Duplicator has been a huge hit since its launch. The new version makes it easier than ever to capture, play back, distribute and sell Ultra HD content directly to live event clients, conferences, and more. The improvements allow users to use slower computers and a wider range of 4K TVs to play back high frame rate Ultra HD H.265 files.
Additionally, the new Blackmagic Design Duplicator 1.0.2 Update improves A/V synchronization across all recordings and reduces the delay when a new video input signal is detected so that recording can begin faster. It also provides better communication between duplicators when multiple duplicators are connected together to record more than 25 duplicators at a time.
