ATOMOS announces the availability of the new Shogun Inferno
The Atomos Shogun Inferno is a portable external recorder and at the same time a top professional touch monitor with a size of 7”, a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and a brightness of 1500 nits. It allows the recording of 4K DCI 50p/60p and UHD 4K & Full HD material via HDMI & HD-SDI cables as well as the recording of 4K RAW material from Sony FS7/FS700 & Canon C300MKII/C500 cameras in 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes/DnxHR compression.
In addition to the superior brightness that allows it to be used in daylight without a shade, the Shogun Inferno monitor incorporates the innovative AtomHDR technology with 10-bit monitor processing that allows for the natural display of 10 stops of dynamic range, which is essential in log recordings of modern cameras.
The Shogun Inferno is powered by 2 Sony L series (NP-F) batteries. When one runs out, the power is automatically supplied by the second. In addition, the Shogun Inferno is accompanied by 2 NP-750 5200mAh batteries and a 3x speed charger.
It offers 3D-LUTs support so that there is a preview of the final material by loading 3D-LUTs (cube files) to SSD to be used in post production.
The Shogun Inferno offers balanced XLR, line/mic and phantom inputs via Lemo cable, as well as a balanced 2-channel output. The on-screen control feature provides control and coordination of recording 8 channels of audio via HDMI or 12 channels of audio via SDI.
For ultimate tuning of the Shogun Inferno's SDI output, the external Genlock reference signal can be locked.
Playback of HD and 4K videos recorded on the Shogun Inferno is done through an easy-to-use menu, while they can be viewed either on the Shogun Inferno monitor or on an external monitor via SDI/HDMI.
4K signals can be converted internally and output as 1080p HD video at the same framerate. This makes it easy to preview footage on HD monitors or record lower quality (proxy) files to an external recorder.
The Shogun Inferno has a durable construction and is accompanied by all those accessories that ensure the demanding needs of professional use. It is accompanied by 2 batteries, fast charger, USB3 docking station, XLR breakout cable, Lanc cable, DC to D-Tap cable, 5 x Master Caddy cases, DC adapter & HDR hood. Finally, it is accompanied by a top waterproof hard case from HPRC.
