If a freeze frame is created from a clip that contains variable or fixed speed settings in Final Cut Pro, rendering the freeze frame clip will render the entire source file, rather than just the freeze frame in the source file.

Export each freeze frame with variable or fixed speed settings in Final Cut Pro to QuickTime movie files. Edit the resulting files into the sequence to replace the freeze frame before sending your project to Color.
