Using Final Cut Pro's “Send to Color” option with a sequence that includes both RED 4K files and regular NTSC footage may result in the NTSC footage being rendered unusable after rendering to Color and sending to Final Cut Pro.

Solution

When preparing a RED 4K Final Cut Pro sequence for use with the “Send to Color” option, avoid including any Standard Definition (PAL or NTSC) material in the sequence.
