The new version of Final Cut Pro X 10.4

Final Cut Pro X 10.4 will be available at the end of the year and will include, among other things, the following new features:

  • Built-in 360 tools including built in motion 360 and 360 3D titles.
  • Clone tool to hide the rig at the bottom of the 360 frame.
  • 360 horizon alignment tool
  • Custom 360 transitions, designed specifically for the new motion version
  • Support simultaneous viewing of 360 screen and headset
  • HDR support
  • New design in the color wheels with RGB and Hue/Saturation curves
  • Manual white balance using a color picker
  • New option to control which color will appear first in the clip
  • Support for additional camera LUTs
  • Custom LUTs can be loaded per clip in the Inspector
  • Custom LUTs can be added as effects
  • Role based forward/back clip selection (eg titles can be ignored)
  • Additional programmable functions for color correction that can be assigned to the keyboard
  • Existing projects are not affected – only new controls have been added
  • Final Cut Pro X 10.4 on iMac Pro can play 4K native RED video with color correction and overlay of unrecovered titles in the timeline.
  • Final Cut Pro X 10.4 on iMac Pro can play optimized (ProRes 4444) in 8K with color corrections and effects in an unsplit time period

  • Can import an iOS iMovie project into FCPX 10.4
