Quantum NVMe F1000 media storage
The demand for more affordable but equally reliable NVMe storage devices led Quantum Corp. to create the new F1000 NVMe with lower prices in 39TB and 77TB capacities.
The new Quantum NVMe F1000 devices feature the same software-defined architecture introduced in the company’s most expensive model, the F2000, which was introduced a year ago, and are designed to deliver fast throughput and response times at a lower price point. The F1000 models are 1U NVMe storage servers that include high performance without the high availability features included in the more expensive F2000 version. Quantum F1000 NVMe storage devices are built to deliver performance that is five to 10 times faster than an equivalent SAS SSD storage array at a price point similar to that of older technologies.
The F-Series devices are designed for use by film and entertainment studios and other customers to accelerate the capture, processing and post-processing of high-definition content, Quantum said. This content can include high-definition video used for film, television and sports production, as well as advertising content. Other critical uses include image-based workflows that require high-speed processing, such as data from a satellite dish or from a vehicle used to develop new automated driver assistance systems (ADAS).
