Sonnet Technologies announced RackMac Studio and xMac Studio professional rackmount systems for Apple Mac Studio computers. RackMac Studio is a one- or two-computer Mac Studio enclosure. Available in three configurations, the xMac Studio has room for a Mac Studio plus a Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion unit.
RackMac Studio:
3U, 9.5-inch-deep rack enclosure supports installation of two Apple Mac Studio computers, securing them behind a removable front panel and providing open access to SD card slots and front and panel ports.
RackMac Studio allows front panel operation of the Mac Studio power switch on the back and connects a USB cable to the panel to one of the USB-A ports, allowing the user to turn Macs on and off without access to the back to keyboard, mouse, thumb drive or other USB device connection. The RackMac Studio's shallow depth makes it suitable for installation in small travel stands and shallow rack cases.
xMac Studio:
16.5-inch-deep enclosure, 3U rackmount plus Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion system that supports a Mac Studio and includes three or one slot Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion module. A model without an expansion unit is available for those who already have a Sonnet Echo III or DuoModo system. Like the RackMac Studio, the xMac Studio secures the computer behind a removable front panel and provides access to the SD card slot and front and rear ports.
It includes a power button to turn the computer on and off, but replaces the USB cable with a four-port USB-A hub for connecting devices on the front. The xMac Studio includes adjustable extension rails for mounting in 16- to 24-inch racks. In place of a second computer, the xMac Studio includes a Thunderbolt to PCIe expansion unit in two configurations:
xMac Studio Echo III & xMac Studio Echo I
RackMac Studio and xMac Studio securely enclose Apple Mac Studio computers without trapping them in hot, recirculating rack air so they stay cool. They are durable with rubber feet for safe transport, making them ideal for racking or any travel shelf to make Mac Studio portable. They feature screw-on front panels and allow computers to be installed or removed easily and without tools.
