Pre-publication of the Action Business Opportunity for the unemployed from the New NSRF 2014-2020

The "Business Opportunity" program is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) within the framework of the Operational Program "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, Innovation (EPANEK)" of the NSRF 2014-2020.

Objective of the action

The action is part of Priority Axis 2 of EPANEK: "Adaptation of workers, businesses and the business environment to the new development requirements", and specifically, to the special objective: 2.1 "Increase healthy start-up entrepreneurship and self-employment" and the investment priority 8iii: "Self-employment, entrepreneurship and business creation, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises'.

The aim of the action is to support the development of healthy startups, entrepreneurship that will be directly linked to the creation of new jobs. For this reason the program aims to:

  • In creating new, innovative and sustainable businesses and
  • In strengthening employment by hiring at least one person

Beneficiaries

Potential beneficiaries of the action are the unemployed registered in the unemployment register of the OAED, up to the date of starting their business activity at the DOU and who did not practice business activity or self-employment from 1/1/2014 until the date of the announcement.

Conditions of participation

The companies that will be established in the context of the investment proposals should:

  • To have started at the DOU after the date of the announcement of the Program
  • To operate legally within the Greek Territory
  • To operate exclusively with one of the following business forms: Limited Liability Company, Limited Liability Company, Limited Liability Company, I.K.E., sole proprietorship and social enterprise.
  • Any eligible natural person to participate in the submission of an investment proposal.

Enhanced priority areas

The business plans to be financed should be innovative and concern, as a matter of priority, the nine (9) strategic priority areas of EPANEK:

  • Agri-Food/Food Industry
  • Supply Chain
  • Energy
  • Environment
  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
  • Tourism
  • Health
  • Materials – Constructions
  • Cultural - Creative Industry

Project budget

Within the framework of the program, projects with a total budget of investment amount are supported (subsidized person) from €25,000.00 to €40,000.00. The aid rate is set at 100% of the total budget. It is possible to make an advance payment of up to 40% of the corresponding Public Expenditure against an equivalent guarantee letter. The funding is provided by the European Union and in particular by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Greek State.

Eligible expenses

  • Operational (rents, DEKO accounts, promotion & advertising costs)
  • Equipment, supply of raw materials and intermediate products, depreciation of fixed assets
  • Costs of providing services (legal, consulting, accounting support and drawing up and monitoring a business plan, etc.)
  • Business insurance premiums
  • Salary costs for new job(s) subject to retention after the end of the grant.
