Blackmagic Design announced at NAB 2018 the new BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, a portable digital camera with a 4/3 HDR sensor, dual ISO with 25600 ISO for amazing low light performance and 13 stops of dynamic range. It also eliminates the need for expensive external recorders, as it features a unique new USB-C expansion port, which allows users to record using internal SD/UHS-II and CFast recording devices or directly to the same external drives they will use for editing and color correction.
It delivers incredibly high-end imaging and professional features in a portable chassis that can be used anywhere. Its compact, small size is ideal for shooting independent films and documentaries, fashion shows, travel blogs, web videos, weddings, corporate videos, sports and more.
High Functionality
The new BlackMagic Pocket Cinema 4K is equipped with features such as MFT lens, large 5-inch touchscreen, 10-bit ProRes and 12-bit RAW recording, 3D LUT, 4 built-in microphones, mini XLR audio input with phantom power, Bluetooth wireless camera control, HDMI for tracking output tracking and more.
The body of the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema 4K is extremely strong and lightweight with incredible strength and rigidity to protect against bumps and drops. The portable design features a multi-function grip, with buttons for easy access to key shooting functions such as start/stop recording, photos, ISO, shutter, aperture, white balance, power and more.
Flexibility in registrations
Footage can be recorded to standard SD cards, faster UHS-II cards or CFast 2.0 cards in ProRes or RAW formats. The BlackMagic Pocket Cinema 4K can record 4K footage at up to 60fps and HD at up to 120fps. It's also the first camera to allow recording directly to the same external USB-C drives used for editing and color correction.
