Comart and Blackmagic Design (BMD) organized yesterday, Monday, October 10, 2016, in the atrium of the Hellenic Automobile Museum, a successful informational event regarding Blackmagic Design's video and cinema technologies, with the presence of the well-known company's fully equipped Van.
Mr. Costas Nikolaidis, Vice President and Sales Manager of Comart, stated to our technology portal: “We are completely satisfied with both the attendance and the interest shown by our guests from television stations, production and post production companies, educational institutions and equipment rental companies, as well as several professional freelancers from the production and cinema sectors, as well as from other sectors such as AV, Corporate.” He continued: “Interest in Blackmagic Design products is rapidly increasing in our country, with Comart being in an advantageous position to meet any requirement and application.”
The Comart people informed us that during Blackmagic Week (from 10 to 14/10 2016) a discount of 10% on list prices applies, by telephone arrangement.
We will not expand on the products we saw inside and outside the BMD Van (they are known to everyone from our posts about the IBC 2016 and NAB 2016 exhibitions, as well as from the press releases of its Resellers in our country as well as the manufacturing company). On the contrary, we will refer to what we heard and recorded from the people of Blackmagic Design, Mr. Pedro Serrano (Business Development Manager OEM EMEA) and Marco Bompani (Regional Sales Manager Italy & Greece).
Specifically, we heard from the lips of two people from BMD that the increase in sales worldwide is significant and that in our country, despite the unfavorable economic situation, there has been a surge in sales, a fact that is due to the fact that BMD offers reliable and quality-performing products at an affordable cost for every budget.
With obvious satisfaction on their faces, they explained to us that this increase in sales is also due to the fact that its products are not only used in the traditional areas of Broadcasting, Post Production and Cinema, but also in other equally important sectors such as AV, concerts, conferences, churches, independent producers, research and educational institutions, etc. They specifically told us that they are particularly optimistic about even greater sales growth in our country and the wider region.
Regarding the development of BMD products, they told us that we have many important solutions to look forward to in the future and that it would be good to wait for the relevant announcements at the upcoming NAB exhibition. In fact, they said that they will continue to produce products with good technology at an affordable price. The common denominator of their products is the quality of the image files (as for cameras) and the production capabilities that we only find in much more expensive equipment. The excellent form factor (shape, size, dimensions) of BMD products also plays an important role in increasing sales.
They also mentioned that now BMD's product range covers the requirements of both Film and Television Production, with cameras that have excellent sensors, PL mount for lenses, excellent on-board processing, sensor calibration and excellent on-board recording, while with the free distribution of a version of Davinci for editing and grading tasks, more and more professionals are approaching BMD's solutions.
