BBC Sport’s innovative, integrated system gave sports fans unprecedented access to the sporting action taking place in China. BBC Sport created a seamless studio environment with easy operator control, using Viz Engine 4 in conjunction with the Unreal Engine 4 rendering pipeline and Vizrt’s Fusion Keyer.

One of the challenges the BBC had to solve with this Unreal 4- Viz Engine 4 hybrid studio was to enable an operator-friendly workflow and streamline content changes to provide viewers with meaningful information during broadcasts. Viz Engine offers native Unreal Engine integration, and the Viz Arc control application is the only one on the market that allows for seamless control of aspects of both rendering pipelines. This allows the producer to focus on the events, not the details of how the graphics are rendered.
