Final Cut Studio 2: Final Cut Pro installation option is disabled

If you install Final Cut Studio 2 after you have installed Logic Studio, the option to install Final Cut Pro may be disabled, so you may not be able to install Final Cut Pro. Other applications may be installed.

This particular issue occurs particularly on systems that already have Logic Studio installed.

Solution

Follow these steps to resolve this issue:

  1. If it is still active, close the Final Cut Studio Installer.
  2. In the Finder, go to /Library/Receipts/.
  3. Locate the file name ProMediaIO.pkg and drag it to the Recycle Bin (Trash).
  4. Run the Final Cut Studio Installer again.
