As IP video becomes a staple in corporate, educational and ProAV environments, the same practical problem is increasingly appearing: the cameras and streams are already on the network, but the meeting room, laptop or display can't always make use of them immediately. That's where the Kiloview U4 IP Video Dock comes in, a compact hardware solution that brings professional IP video sources closer to everyday workflows such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, OBS, room displays and local monitoring.
It is not a simple decoder
The U4 doesn’t just function as a traditional decoder that converts an IP stream to HDMI for display. Kiloview positions it as an IP Video Dock, and that difference is significant. Instead of serving just one output, the U4 can convert IP video to what each downstream device needs: USB-C UVC/UAC for a conference laptop, HDMI for a room display, or DisplayPort for monitoring.

This means that an IP video source can be more readily utilized in real-world meeting, education, and ProAV setups, without the need for separate software, virtual cameras, OBS setups, or additional conversion hardware. For environments where reliability is critical, this hardware approach makes a big difference.
Support for the most important IP video protocols
Kiloview U4 is designed for installations where different IP video standards and sources coexist. It supports protocols such as NDI HB, NDI HX2, NDI HX3, RTSP, SRT, RTMP, UDP, RTP and HLS, while decoding H.264 and H.265 streams. Thus, it can act as a practical endpoint between NDI cameras, RTSP cameras, SRT feeds, media servers or remote video sources.
The logic is simple: U4 takes IP video from the network and delivers it in a format that room devices can use immediately. This makes it particularly useful in venues where AV-over-IP is already embedded in the infrastructure, but end users need simple and predictable operation.

No drivers, no virtual camera, no software workarounds
Until now, a common way to pass IP video into a Teams or Zoom call has been to use software solutions such as NDI Tools, OBS or virtual camera drivers. These solutions can work, but often create practical problems: conflicts after updates, restrictions from IT policies, increased CPU load or difficulty supporting multiple rooms.
Kiloview U4 transfers this complexity to the hardware. The computer sees the device as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device, which makes usage much simpler for the end user. In a BYOD or BYOM meeting room, the guest can connect their laptop via USB-C and use the available IP video sources without installing any software.
One source, multiple destinations
In many real-world installations, a video feed doesn’t just need to be displayed in one place. It may also need to be fed into a Teams meeting, displayed on a local screen, and sent to a monitoring or recording system. The U4 is designed for just such scenarios.

It supports same-source multi-output, so that an IP stream can be output simultaneously to USB, HDMI and DisplayPort. It can also operate with dual-source independent output, where two different sources are independently assigned to the available output channels. For example, an NDI PTZ camera can go via USB to the meeting laptop, while a separate SRT stream from a remote speaker can be displayed on the room’s HDMI display.
Compact design for easy installation
The U4 is designed for easy integration into meeting rooms, classrooms, control rooms and mobile ProAV setups. With its compact dimensions, USB-C power and Gigabit Ethernet, it can be discreetly placed behind monitors, on meeting tables or in AV racks, without adding unnecessary complexity to the installation.
Support for USB power and PD charging makes it suitable for both temporary setups and more permanent installations. This is especially useful in corporate environments where a clean, stable, and easily repeatable deployment across multiple rooms is needed.
