The new LaCie 2big Dock with Thunderbolt 3, offering fast speeds and massive capacity, it's becoming an indispensable and versatile tool for photographers and filmmakers. Designed by Neil Poulton, the LaCie 2big Dock is also a stylish yet powerful docking station that provides ports for connecting other devices, a feature that many laptops have sacrificed in recent years.
Through a single cable, it simplifies and centralizes the desktop by connecting cards SD, Compact Flash cards and other devices directly to a laptop. The result is a simplified, more efficient and faster creative workflow.
Speed and huge capacity
Creative professionals handle large amounts of data on tight deadlines, so the quality and speed of their tools are critical. With up to 20TB of capacity – a 251TB increase over the previous version – the LaCie 2big Dock gives professionals plenty of space for large video libraries and photos, including up to 650 hours 4k 30fps footage or 200,000 raw images.
With speeds of up to 440MB/s, users can transfer an hour of 4K footage in one minute. This also means near-zero lag when browsing photo libraries on the Adobe Lightroom while filmmakers can edit quickly and smoothly in Adobe Premiere Pro compressed 4K or HD material.
Storage and interconnection multi-tool
The LaCie 2big Dock is a powerful docking station that helps photographers and filmmakers streamline their workflows. Front-facing SD and CF slots allow the professional to instantly access files from memory cards from Drone, cameras DSLR, GoPro and other devices, in Adobe Lightroom or Premiere Pro.
Considering that the 2016 MacBook Pro they don't have any kind of card reader, such a feature adds the necessary functionality that creative professionals need.
The USB 3.0 hub charges a phone or connects a shuttle drive or camera to download shots or files. Via DisplayPort, professionals can connect the LaCie 2big Dock to high-resolution 720-1080p or even 4K screens.
Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports can also power a compatible laptop while adding up to five additional Thunderbolt ports or a USB-C drive. In addition, the full-size USB 3.1 (Type A) port on the front of the device allows for universal compatibility with USB-C and USB 3.0 computers via the included cable. This port acts as a hub that allows for quick and easy connection of devices such as USB flash drives and digital cameras to MacBook Pro computers. Compatibility with Thunderbolt 2 is also possible with an adapter sold separately.
The new LaCie 2big Dock is available in capacities 8TB, 12TB, 16TB and 20TB, at prices starting from 540€+VAT.
