Blackmagic Design introduces the Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra, a new high-performance storage solution for productions that need fast media access, instant collaboration and reliable file management. It is aimed at broadcast trucks, live production setups, sports replay, post production teams and workflows that rely on large volumes of material.
Its main value is that it allows Blackmagic Media Modules to be used as fast removable storage, so that material from the camera can be immediately transferred to an editing, review or replay environment without unnecessary delays.
Two independent 100G Ethernet connections
The Media Dock Ultra features two independent 100G Ethernet connections, offering very high transfer speeds and simultaneous access from multiple systems. This is especially important in live events, sports and broadcast productions, where media must be immediately available for playback, editing or replay.
Ideal for URSA Cine, DaVinci Resolve and replay
The dock works with Blackmagic Media Modules used in URSA Cine cameras, allowing for a faster transition from capture to post production. In workflows with DaVinci Resolve, HyperDeck recorders or live replay, direct access to the material reduces copying time and makes production more efficient.
SDI and HDMI monitoring
Another practical feature is the SDI and HDMI monitoring outputs, which allow live viewing of the storage status. In control rooms, OB vans and broadcast racks, this feature helps operators have a direct view of the system's operation.
Blackmagic Cloud sync and broadcast reliability
With support for Blackmagic Cloud sync, the Media Dock Ultra fits into more connected workflows, where editors, colorists and production teams can collaborate more easily. Meanwhile, dual redundant AC power supplies offer greater security in critical live and broadcast environments.
