Blackmagic wanted the camera's capabilities to be tested in different conditions so the scenario included different times of day, night shots with artificial and natural lighting, different settings, indoor and outdoor shooting, close-up and long-distance, drone shooting, etc. He also wanted to show the ease of use offered by the new URSA Mini camera in real conditions and its amazing results.
The video mentions the different lenses used for the various shots, the peripheral equipment such as the lights, the drone etc. but also the techniques and some settings that were chosen for better quality in production. For each scene with its particular requirements, the results of combining the capabilities of the camera with the use of specific lighting and techniques are presented.
The URSA dynamic range produced excellent footage in all conditions even in low-light situations such as night scenes, indoors, etc. The camera's construction and light weight made it ideal for demanding drone scenes. Also, its dynamic range helped in these shots that often require shots with large camera rotations of up to 360 degrees where lighting conditions change dramatically.
